CAE Phrasal Verb: Opt For

"Which of the mobile phones did you buy in the end?"
"I really liked the iPhone, but it was really expensive. So I OPTED FOR the new Samsung, which was nearly as good but $250 less."

"Have you decided the colour of your new car yet?"
"I do like it in white, red and yellow. But I think I am going to OPT FOR dark blue. I have always liked the colour."
